Stories & Thoughts

The tangled and twisted mind of Vincent St. Claire.

Published Short Stories & Flash Fiction

Short stories and flash fiction is the playground for the imagination. It allows for short-form storytelling but also for just writing practice in general. These are not deep intellectual treatises but fun, quick reads for distraction. Even horror takes a break now and again to revel in the absurd. This is that, for sure. World of Bristol Cove

Founded in 1658, Bristol Cove is the sister seaport city to Innsmouth in Southern Massachusetts, southwest of Providence, Rhode Island, south of I-195, just off the mouth of the Wexford River.

‘The Cove’ is the center of a fictional universe designed by Vincent St. Claire in pursuit of a modern Lovecraftian exploration of cosmic horror in the 21st century. This is an ever-evolving resource—a story bible—for the stories set in and around Bristol Cove, and provides all the key information on locations, people, creatures, and artifacts.

“For fuck’s sake, I write godsquid-based gothic noir and world devouring cosmic evils for a living. Or at least I pretend it’s for a living. And I hang around with people who write time-shifting lesbians and squirrelly squires doing harpy hoedowns with demon-infested swords.” Julian snickered. “So far, this is registering as a mildly weird mindfuck.” He looked back out the window into the dusk-shaded gardens. “But if this is a reality that’s actually happening, it’s still a lot to process.”
